Profits Over People and We The People Is A Myth

For the first time ever the Health Care Bill has passed in the House. However, before it even reaches the Senate floor, the Senators are sending out the message that it is dead on arrival. It seems that campaign contributions are more important and are the Senators only sole priority, because people are dying and the Senators don't seem to care, nor do Health Insurance Companies. As always, it is profit over people and "We the People" is a myth in the United States. Instead it is "We the Corporations" that the Senators are working hard in behalf of not "We the People."

Before the President took office, he made some promises. Well, he has been trying to keep those promises in spite of strong opposition and all the distractions that have been thrown in his path. However, he cannot do it alone and that was something he made perfectly clear the day he won the elections. Americans are so fickle, impatient, most are mentally lazy, and have very short memories.

"The big arguments against the public option have been these: that the government is incapable of running an insurance plan, that the free-market provides consumers with better choices, that socialized insurance will have unfair advantages. But as Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist David K. Johnston recently reported, these arguments do not stop some of the big opponents of socialized insurance for voting for socialized insurance when that insurance is not for the wellbeing of people but of property and insurance companies." ~~Heather--Crooksandliars~~

Day after day, we've been bombarded with false rumors and fear tactics from the GOP party, Insurance Companies, the rightwing pundits in MSM, and all of those who want the President to fail. None care that if he fails that means the American people fail. Therefore, the American people are fed BS on a daily basis. We gobble it up like it is the best desert or meal we've ever tasted in our lives. The MSM and GOP would have you to believe that President Obama has not done a darn thing since he has been in office, which has been only 10 months and eight days to be exact.

Okay, so let me refresh people's memory on what our President has done since taking office:

1. Greater funding for veteran healthcare
2. Increase funding for public education
3. Expansion of the earn Income tax credit
4. Tax credit for college student
5. Electric Grid infrastructure package
6. SCHIP pass & signed into law
7. Ledbetter bill pass & signed into law
8. disarmament talks with Russia re-started
9. worked on building America's image up with foreign countries

I'd say that is a pretty good start seeing how the last 40 something Presidents did not get that much accomplished in 4 years and it only took President Obama a few months to get that much done. But the President is a black man, so our American history of expecting way more out of blacks on the job as far as job performance goes than whites is expected and nothing new. No other group of minority people have had to deal with that or do they? I'm sure most of you black folks can relate to that.

Black folks have always been expected to jump hoops and do way above and beyond on the job whereas whites can glide through doing barely anything and are promoted over blacks who have paid their dues, have senority,or have trained those same white folks on the job. BTW, the Ledbetter act, they've were fighting for equal pay for women when I was still in the workforce many years ago. So, that in itself was a great accomplishment.

Do you think that MSM will highlight our President's accomplishments? Nope, sad to say they won't not in post racial America. Instead, they will highlight all of the false rumors, the fear tactics, and BS. Will they highlight this?

"In a letter to Cigna chairman H. Edward Hanway this week, Rockefeller also accused Cigna and the other companies of keeping two sets of books: telling Wall Street investors they're spending less on medical care and pocketing the difference, while telling customers and regulators they're spending more."

Will they give it the coverage they do false rumors, fear tactics, and BS? Let me answer that question for you. Hell nah! Yeah, I said that! And? You got to start to wonder whose side MSM, the Senators, and GOP are on. Well, that's easy, they are on the side of profits. Matthew Yglesias made an interesting comment but it rings true as far as those out to make money go. He said:

In Scarface Tony Montana expresses his view that “In this country, you gotta make the money first. Then when you get the money, you get the power.” ~~Matthew Yglesias-Think Progress~~

Yeah, I hear ya Matt, but isn't that more in the line of the GOP way of thinking. I mean we did just go through eight years of Bushonomics and before that it was Reaganomics. Let's face it, that's how we got in the situation we're in today and the rich got richer while the poor got poorer. BTW, directing the majority of cast to the Republicans, that's not a good idea either. You see, they had this bad habit of robbing the poor and middleclass to give to the rich. It's that tranferring of money, the old switcher-roo game that I have a problem with because millions of "We the People" suffer and lose two of the basic mandatory necessities that everyone needs to survive, which is the Maslow hieraracy of needs--physiological and safety.

One man, Bill Moyers, with courage to stand up for what is right, that I can truly call a real journalist, had it right when he said this:

"There are no victimless crimes in politics. The price of corruption is passed on to you… Look back at the bulk of legislation passed by Congress in the past decade: an energy bill that gave oil companies huge tax breaks…; a bankruptcy “reform” bill written by credit card companies to make it harder for poor debtors…; the deregulation of the banking, securities, and insurance sectors, which led to rampant corporate malfeasance and greed and the destruction of the retirement plans of millions of small investors; the deregulation of the telecommunications sector, which led to… an undermining of news coverage; protection for rampant overpricing of pharmaceutical drugs"~~Bill Moyers~~

Moyers nailed it down to the letter with that description of how we got where we are now. But we tend to forget that and want to join the bandwagon of those who want the President to fail and go for any false rumor, tactic fear, or conspiracy theory those same folks that mean us no good can drum up and fall for it hook, line, and sinker.

It is time for change and it is, also, time for the American people to stop letting those up on Capitol Hill and the Health Insurance companies who don't have their health and well-being as a priority sell them fried ice cream. People whose only treasure is profits at the expense of others are not good merchants. Therefore, it is time for change and it is also time to wake up.

BTW, this is last topic that I'll be posting. My blog will be shut down after this topic. No more blogging for me, it's time for me to move on. Oops, I almost forgot to tell you good people about these folks here-->Ameritech Electronic Commerce. Now, I know why I kept getting viruses and had to reformat and reinstall constantly-->Ameritech. Looks like I am not the only one that was experiencing this problem with them sending a viruses to computer either. Shame on you Ameritech, you must be a Republican.

Bye bye and I wish all of you the best!

Do Some Things Stay The Same?

Today I thought I'd do something different and have an old school concert. Music is something that has always brought people together. That's why I like old school music because it had meaning and sometimes it was prophetic if you think about it. Does the world really keep on spinning or do we as human beings keep walking in circles and wind up back where we started from? Listen to the words of each song carefully and afterwards I'd like to hear your views on how much we've progressed.

Hell In A Hand Basket

Don't sometimes when you read the news of things going on in the world today you just feel like going on a news diet. Nah, I take that back a news fast. In the wee-wee hours this morning, I read the news and the article headlines alone were depressing and disturbing.

First I read about a baby that had been missing for a week was found under the babysitters bed in a box. I thought to myself, you can't even trust the babysitter nowadays. That's scary! Kids are just not safe these days. We adults need to practice "It takes A Village To Raise A Child." At least we would have more eyes watching the children and more protection for them. It worked back in the old days. Children were more safer that's for sure.

"She was way back under the bed," he said. "But she was not crying."~~Melissa Nelson-Huffingtonpost~~

"Baker had written a letter to Gov. Charlie Crist's office in August, pleading for help for the baby and claiming her father shook her and both parents did drugs in front of her.Read more at:"~~ Melissa Nelson-Huffingtonpost~~

Okay, then the headlines about the bailout recipients caught my eye. I'm sorry folks but these CEOs aren't exactly making my heart sing with their scheming and conniving ways. Especially, when it is not benefitting the American people. Can we still tar and feather folks and run them out of Dodge? It is time for some audits to take place, tough love, some jail time, a bill to end lobbying period, and to take our money back because these folks are full of dung. While we at it, this administration's economic advisers and treasury folks need to be replaced quick, fast, and in a hurry. Time for some fresh faces and some folks that are not playing the money switcher-roo. Enough is enough!

So, I put aside the news for a couple of hours and come back to finish it off and that's how my heart got broken. I felt like I had been stabbed in the heart. The military people have always been my heroes. Hearing about a mini-mass shooting and murder of one of their own brothers who might be the one to have their back in a war has shaken me up. I didn't want to believe that this could be happening and coming from the very same people that I adored and thought the world of. Not those men who sacrifice their lives and family to protect and serve us. This couldn't be happening. I've come to expect hearing something like that happening here in civilian life because shooting and death is no stranger to us who live a civilian life. I have family in military as well and I am praying that none of mine were at Fort Hood and one of the victims as well as those who have lost their lives and their families.

Maybe, it's time for America and Americans to re-examine themselves. Like in the story of Joshua when they said it's time to search the camp. Well, maybe, it's time for us to search the camp and find out what we're lacking or what we're not doing right or what it is we've done that we need to ask for forgiveness for. One thing is for sure, we as Americans cannot keep on going down this same old road we're traveling in the same worn out clothes. It's time for change!

When Is Fox We Make It Up News Gone Quit Lying?

Well, as usual Fox is determine to keep pedaling its lies and deception. They should just change their logo to Pinnochio because that would be more fitting for all the lies they tell on a daily basis. I'm just saying. Looks like they've been lying not only about current events up on Capitol Hill but they've also been lying about their ratings and with some help.

"Fact: The breathless claim that Fox News' ratings recently spiked thanks to the White House's public critique is bogus hype -- hype that Fox News and the Beltway press have relentlessly pushed. " ~~John Amato, Crooks and Liars~~

Why am I not surprised? Anyone who would believe that those folks over at Fox News are fair and balance or speak an ounce of truth, I've got some fried ice cream in different favors to sell them. What makes it even worse is that the Beltway press are helping them to deceive people and you might as well add to that list a few in MSM. Roger Ailes and Rupert Murdoch seem to believe that people should be lied to and that is not good for our country because it divides us. But then, Ailes is what I'd call messy and likes to stir up dung. He is still stuck in a 1950s time warp and does not want to see change. Murdoch wants to profit off of hate and destroy America at the same time.

Nonetheless, I have to give Fox We Make It Up News credit where credit is due. They do an excellent self-destruct jobs.
Note to my Readers* I had to change moderation settings on my blog because of an incident on one of my last topics. Therefore, it might take a minute for your comments to post. Although, it may cause a slight inconvenience in time. I hope you'll bear with me and be patient.

Notice To My Readers

Apparently, some folks are coming over from another blog trying to play games and do the same thing that they are doing over at that one, and that is working to destroy it. I am not gone put up with that. My blog was created so that people could come and share their views in a peaceful atsmophere as adults in an intelligent manner. Therefore, I am making a few changes in the way that my blog is moderated to keep out the riff raff. People have different views and that is fine with me. I have no problem with that. We can always agree to disagree. So, from now on your comments might take a minute to post.

Exposing the Enemy

Today my topic is about no_slappz. Yup, I'm giving no_slappz the spotlight today. I thought I'd sort of do no_slappz the honor of turning a few stones to let you people know what type of person he is and what his habits and mission is on blogs. After I'm finish, you will get an idea as to what type of person no_slappz is and what both white and black folks think about him.

"No_slappz, a bigoted pest who comments here serially from time to time. He views himself as somewhat of a "populist intellectual" the sighing voice of white America sick of the salad of multiculturalism. What he actually is and this is known by many as a man of little character and even less power of mind. We, Ourselves of the Collective while scanning Lisa Golden's great blog, That's Why noted how he harassed her in her own spaces and thereby sought out "THE BLOGS OF NO_SLAPPZ."

"Knowing his hatred for the black race We, Ourselves knew no_slappz would no be able to bloviate about how Barack Hussein Obama was going to be soundly beaten in the 2008 plebiscite by John McCain. Of course, Terran history records that Mc Cain was defeated. So great was the hubris borne by no_slappz that he made a wager with noted American football tipping analyst Matty Boy of Unified Football Theory fame as well as Lotsa Splaining to do where he writres about everything other than sports. The bet was simple Obama wins Matty Boy gets a week to guest blog at No_Slappz if McCain wins No_slappz gets one day at LS2D. This was fair because of MattyBoy's quote which he felt compelled to make in comments because no_slappz not being a man of his word tried to dodge him: "

"No, slappz is not a man of his word. The loser of a bet does not have to be reminded of the situation by the winner in a man's world."
~~Editorials from Hell's leading daily newspaper~~

These are just a few of blogs he has been banned from but there are many more:

Oh yeah, no_slappz is a little sneaky and sometimes does not sign in using his regular screenname. No_slappz really believes that black and Hispanics are dumb and in that “Bell Curve” superior intelligence myth. "1 month ago Fucked in Park Slope - Embrace the Hate. - Home - The Park Slope vs. Westboro Baptist Church Smackdown. As hater roadshows go, the Westboro Girls seemed to be putting on a tired act. The saddest part, however, came in the form of the two kids with the five hayseed Topekans. What lies ahead for them?

Meanwhile, the leading loudmouth was the daughter of Fred Phelps, the organization's founder. She seemed to exhibit signs of mental illness, and her associates seemed similarly afflicted. She seemed to be their Jim Jones."

"1 year ago Barack Obama’s Statement on Financial Markets Crisis. The reduction in creditworthiness of borrowers is the chief culprit in the mortgage crisis. But blacks and hispanics were the borrowers who were suddenly able to increase their levels of home ownership as a result. "

"Obama wants tighter lending regulations -- that means bigger downpayments and less interest-rate flexibility. Okay. But that means home ownership among blacks and hispanics will decline if he is elected. ~~no_slappz~~

Here is snippet of a conversation on another blog and some of no_slappz’s comments to let you know how he thinks:

"No Slappz says- "Meanwhile Federal prosecutors went overboard a few years ago to convict Martin de la Beckwith for some racist murders in like 1960" ~~no_slappz~~

"No Slappz says: I think the subtext of your post is to give agreement to the notion that whatever problems beset the black community today, these problems can all be traced back to slavery or lynchings. Thus you support of Victimization Mythology. "~~no_slappz~~

"No Slappz says- "It might be worth noting that six million jews were exterminated" ~~no_slappz~~

Here is snippet of a conversation on another blog and some of no_slappz’s comments to let you know how he thinks. Smh! Now, this should give you an example of those he thinks are worthy of defending. Martin de la Beckwith killed CHILDREN:

~~no_slappz~~

Notice that he used the word EXTERMINATED, you know, like as in exterminating roaches. I agree with this blogger.

Shouldn’t the word be immigrans just like the Irish, Germans, Russians, French, and other whites were all called meaning that they came from a foreign country and not outer space? Yet and still, no_slappz labels them Illegal aliens and makes other human beings sound like they came from outer space. Yup, he is quite a bigot and a liar too. “There are many problems with Obama's healthcare legislation. Why is a 1,017-page bill needed? Why not simply expand the eligibility for Medicaid? Obama's plan opens the door to unlimited government spending on healthcare, which means he is attempting to legislate a program that can easily bankrupt the nation. And, despite claims to the contrary, the Healthcare Bill does offer coverage to illegal aliens. Furthermore, Obama's view on illegal aliens boils down to giving them amnesty, and by the stroke of a pen, changing them from illegal aliens to legal immigrants, all of whom are permitted to apply for government healthcare.”~~no_slappz~~

Victims Are Rewarded Life Sentences

A child was taken advantage of, fought back, and was given a life sentence for it. What kind of society are we living in when a grown man rapes a 13 year old child and then puts her out on the street to work as a prostitute?

Children are supposed to be protected because they are some of our most vulnerable citizens. Are we letting our children down and failing them? We have child predators that steal their innocence and cause them to have mental scars for the rest of their lives. At the age of 16, Sara Kruzan killed her 31 year old pimp who raped her when she was 13 years old. When does the healing begin if she is given a life sentence for it?

I am speechless and heartbroken over reading this story. This is one time I really don't know what to say. So, I'll just end this post.
