Uncle Tom's Children

I happen to read the article from different perspectives, white and black, regarding Governor Patterson commuting the sentence of John White, which is stirring up a controversy in difference of opinions as is always the case.  What is difference between a black man protecting their home and white man protecting his?

Every once in a while, I like to go back and read a book that I’ve already read in the past. The other day, I picked out of my collection an old book called “Uncle Tom’s Children” by Richard Wright. The first sentence he wrote in the book, “My first lesson in how to live as a Negro came when I was quite small.” That first sentence in the book struck me as sort of odd. I was like why would a black man make a statement like that? However, when I thought about it, it made a lot of sense.

Then it dawned on me. He had to learn how to survive in order to live in a world where black men were endangered species trapped in second-class citizenship because of the racist attitudes of most that did not want to see him get ahead in life or recognize him as a man. In order to survive he had to shift between two different personas and play by those in power set of rules or it could cost him his life.

Wright’s story mirrored that of many black men living in the South and a few other states during that time period. Most of the rules were aimed at stripping black men of their manhood and filled with constant humiliation. A black man had to play one role for those in power and another role which was his true self for his friends and family. Wright sacrificed who he was as an individual—a man and human being in order to feed and provide a roof over their head. Staying alive played a definite major part in his decision. His life and being able to live it to a ripe old age was of the utmost importance to him, but the main deciding factor in why he chose to play the game by their set of rules—he was powerless to do otherwise.

Richard Wright’s story took place during an era when there was no such thing as Civil Rights for minorities. Blacks had no rights! Black men in the past were lynched at the drop of a hat for trivial so-called offenses and many of those so-called offenses were created falsehoods because of their thirst for black men’s blood. In addition, it was their lust for watching strange fruit hanging from a tree for sadistic entertainment purposes. In my own family tree, there were three victims of lynching.

The newspaper article regarding the lynching of one of my ancestors who was a preacher is in a book called “100 Years of Lynching” by Ralph Ginzberg that focuses on lynching of black men in the past. I have a picture of my ancestor and several newspaper clippings regarding the incident and trial. The culprits who committed this act were brought to trial, but the only punishment they received was a verbal reprimand. They did not spend one day in jail. The justice system back then considered that reprimand—justice served.

I thought about the outcome in Oscar Grant's trial when I read the article about John White. How many more years do those in power want black men to play Uncle Tom's Children?

AMERICAN UPRISING!

To show my appreciation to those who have stopped by to read granny exercising her freedom of speech  for these last few years I am giving away two free copies of the newly soon to be released book "American Uprising."  Since I only have two copies to giveaway, the first two people who respond to this post by sending me an email will be the recipients of this giveaway.  grannystandingfortruth12@gmail.com.

Below are details of what the book is all about. Although, I wish I could be like Oprah and give every single one of my readers a copy.  However, I am not Oprah and besides, it's the economy and those darn rightwing folks have added grandma's check to their hit list.

AMERICAN UPRISING
The Untold Story of America’s Largest Slave Revolt
By
Daniel Rasmussen

Many Americans are familiar with the slave revolts led by John Brown and Nat Turner, but the story of the greatest act of slave resistance in American history has never been told, until now. In his riveting narrative, AMERICAN UPRISING: The Untold Story of America’s Largest Slave Revolt (Harper; January 4, 2011; Hardcover; $26.99), twenty-three year-old author Daniel Rasmussen provides a groundbreaking contribution to the historical record. Based on the author’s Harvard thesis, which won three separate awards and caught the attention of scholars across the country, AMERICAN UPRISING employs extensive original research to provide a multi-dimensional portrait of the American South just a few years after the Louisiana Purchase.

On January 8, 1811 a group of sugar plantation slaves violently rebelled along the River Road outside of New Orleans. Led by slave driver Charles Deslondes, as well as two other slaves, Kook and Quamana, the slaves marched on the practically defenseless city during the plantation owners’ annual period of revelry and celebration preceding Mardi Gras. Enlisting additional slaves as the march proceeded, Deslondes’ group, armed with guns, cane knives, and axes, sought to strike a death blow to the heart of the region’s seat of power and establish a black republic on the shores of the Mississippi.

As the 200th anniversary of the rebellion approaches in January 2011, AMERICAN UPRISING shares the story of this elaborate plot and the slave army’s dramatic march on the city, as well as its shocking conclusion. As the rebellion continued, federal officials and French planters eventually joined forces and exacted terrible retribution, beheading over 100 slaves and dangling their dismembered corpses from the gates of New Orleans.

With race once again central to the national conversation, Rasmussen’s book has the potential to fundamentally alter the way we view some of the darkest chapters in American history. The slaves who come to life in this book are not victims, but proud, angry men from all different walks of life, who shared a belief that freedom was worth fighting, and indeed, dying for. Rasmussen’s tale – more Braveheart than Beloved – promises to provoke a new discussion about how we think about America’s complex racial past and to stir controversy in New Orleans itself, where the revolt remains a well-kept secret.

Garnering exceptional early praise from the most prominent historians in the country, AMERICAN UPRISING is an important work from a brilliant new writer. This eye-opening history pulls back the curtain on a long-neglected period in New Orleans history, offering new insights into the rise of slavery in the South and our nation’s path to Civil War.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Daniel Rasmussen graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Harvard University in 2009, winning the Kathryn Ann Huggins Prize, the Perry Miller Prize, and the Thomas Temple Hoopes Prize.

A Cry Out For Closure

As I've stated in the past, I like to read and surf the net.  While doing a little research and surfing the net, I ran across a story out of the past that needs some closure for their families sake.  That closure is long overdue.  What the family is asking for is not much, accept a proper ID of the bodies and to be allowed to give them headstones.

I remember Governor Orville Fabus from back in the day because one of my own relatives was, directly, subjected to his stand against "colored" children attending  those lilywhite schools back during segregation. In his mind, those darkies, one who happen to be related to me, were not entitled to a decent education.

Most black folks remember old Fabus who was known for defying President Eisenhower by closing down the school for a year to keep blacks from attending it and ordering the national guards to keep them out, which led to a showdown between Eisenhower and him.   President Eisenhower won in the end, but not before it got a little undignified as Americans, black and white, watched on televisions screens across the nation.

"THE FAMILY MEMBERS OF THESE BOYS SEEK CLOSURE, BUT THE STATE OF ARKANSAS REFUSES TO GIVE THESES FAMILIES PERMISSION TO EXHUME AND DNA TEST THE REMAINS. THEY NEED TO KNOW WHERE THEIR LOVED ONE ARE."~~Black History.com~~

March 5, 1959, before dawn, the dormitory at the school caught fire. The two doors leading out of the room were locked. "I didn't understand what he meant when he said they had the doors locked, so I guess that's what he was telling me. They had two doors locked between them,? says Lawrence.~~Robert Bell~~

My topic today is said to be tied to the "Little Rock Nine Arkansas" crisis.  However, it was left out of history books and very few people knew about it.  Truthfully speaking this is my first time hearing of it. Therefore, I thought I would shine a little spotlight on it today.

Strange Fruit In 2010?

"Southern trees bear a strange fruit, Blood on the leaves and blood at the root, Black bodies swinging in the southern breeze, strange fruit hanging from the poplar trees." ~Billie Holiday~~

Mr. President, maybe, you should have chose another President to emulate.  President Lincoln might not have been a good choice after all.  Yeah, he freed the slaves and all, but all hell broke loose after he did that and the ex-slaves caught hell, freedom turned into Jim Crow, and Jim Crow into strange fruit.

Maybe, Mr. President should have chose President Kennedy or President Johnson to emulate.

People are angry that our President gave into the demands of the Republican's ultimatum. Can't say that I blame them because I am terribly disappointed in him making a deal with them myself.  It comes a time when you have to pull up your pants and put your foot down and just say no!

I understand that he was feeling compassion for the unemployed with it being close to Christmas.  However, Christmas last one day and it's over until the next year rolls around.  Besides which, Christmas has become too commercialized and just another day for the rich to get richer while the poor get poorer. In addition, we got some unbelieving folks that just don't believe in Jesus, which isn't good, because a lot of them really do need  Jesus.  I'm just saying.

Never in a million years did I think I would live to see a black man become President of the Divided States of America.  Nor did I think I would live to see Jim Crow and lynching revived under the leadership of a black President either, but well there are some folks in America that are longing for those nostalgic days.

"The county sheriff says that a 26-year-old black man, Frederick Jermaine Carter, found hanged from an oak tree in Greenwood, Miss., apparently committed suicide, but the president of the local NAACP challenges that explanation and says the group will monitor developments in the case."~~NewsOne~~

"State Rep. Willie Perkins, a Democrat from Greenwood and president of the Leflore County branch of the NAACP, says that group also “will keep a high scrutiny and watch on any investigative report regarding what was the cause of death.”~~NewOne~~

“There are a lot of concerns there, No. 1 that this individual could not have (hanged) himself without the assistance of someone, if it’s being declared a suicide,” he says. “Why would someone from Sunflower County come to North Greenwood, the predominantly white housing area of Greenwood? Why would someone that far away come and hang themselves in North Greenwood by a river? That does not pass the smell test to me.”~~NewsOne~~

We're living in Post-Racial America, well...okay, we're living in land of the free with justice and liberty for all.  Oh heck, we living in the land of great pretenders pretending that our country is all of the above. BTW, what harm is it in letting the LGBT community serve in the military.  They happen to live in this country too, so they should be allowed to fight our so-called fight for colonialism, oops, I mean freedoms too.

Teach Me How To Dougie

It seems that a lot of folks are trying to learn how to Dougie.  Wolf Blitzer and Barbara Walters are trying to learn how to do the Dougie.  The Dougie might be a new dance craze like the Electric Slide that crosses over into all generations, but why do females always have to be referred to by the "B" word?

The Dougie dance does seem to bring out the lightheartedness in people and is popular with all ages and color.  The dance might turn out to be the next Electric slide dance craze.  However, it is not the dance that is disturbing, it's that "B" word in the lyrics.  Come on now, young black men, you've got to stop referring to females as the "B" word.  No female's mother on this earth named their daughter that.

Maybe, Pui Tak elementary school and an Darren Newton should have been learning how to do the Dougie.

A four year old child refused to cooperate. If your four year old acts up, should the school tie them up with duct tape?  Pui Tak elementary school seems to think that is proper punishment, especially if they are black. Is execution next?  Why do some folks seem to think that  ALL black parents are the ONLY ONES lacking parenting skills and teaching their kids to be thugs?

The father thinks the underlying cause is racism.  Granny is thinking--> glad the child wasn't one of those terrible 2s because  no telling what would have transpired had that been the case.  Patience is a virtue when dealing with small children. Some people do not need to work in positions that involve children.

When Irving later spoke to Gin about the incident, she warned him that the lack of discipline his son exhibited "is how it ends up with kids getting guns." ~~Huffingtonpost~~

There are laws that protect children against their parents.  A parent could wind up facing child abuse charges and prison for disciplining their child using Pui Tak's method of punishment.  They would be in court defending themselves against child abuse charges and Child Protective Services would be paying them a visit.  So, is it okay for a school to abuse them?

Then there is Darren Newton, a dad who murdered his 15 month old baby and video taped it.  A little duct would have came in handy to tie the dad up to prevent him from abusing that child.

Children have a soft-spot with me.  I love having them around because it is never a dull moment with them.  Like Ark Linkletter used to say, "Kids can say the darnest things."  Children are such a joy to have around and you can learn from them too, if you pay close attention, and have a good listening ear. That is don't listen at them, but to them.

I always tell people that when you are a parent you are at the apprenticeship level, but when you become a grandparent you are at the journeyman level.  Believe it or not when you become a parent you are in training and learning how to be one because there is more to being a parent than feeding, clothing, and keeping a roof over a child's head.

Racism Is Nostalgia With Indiana's White Folks

America has become a country well-known for its bigoted views.  I mean...come on lets face it.  What is the sense in trying to hide it, or pretend that we are post-racial, or act as if we are the country of brotherly and sisterly love when it comes to people of color.  Our history is drenched in racism, discrimination, and prejudice.  This country was built on a foundation steeped in racism.

Apparently, residents in Indiana seem to think being offensive with a racist twist to it is nostalagic because they are backing and support a Noblesville storeowner who is selling controversial soap with racist labels on it:

"The controversy over soap with racist labels being sold at a Noblesville store continues. In addition to those who are offended by the store selling these items, there is also growing support for the vendor who has been ordered to take the soaps off the shelves or face eviction."~~Casey Gane-McCalla, NewOne~

"After hearing about the soap, Carolyn Gentner bought two bars including one labeled “Kolored Kids.”~~Casey Gane-McCalla, NewOne~

“I don’t think they’re offensive, I think they’re nostalgic,” she told Fox59 News. “I believe if this is going to be an issue, we should be in Kroger for selling Aunt Jemima syrup."~~Casey Gane-McCalla, NewOne~

Okay, so I guess they wouldn't mind if young people of color begin businesses selling products with labels that are offensive to white folks.  After all if you can't lick them, join them! It is 2010 going on 2011 and their game of offending people of color with imagery of exaggerated facial features on cartoon like characters which are racist in content has failed to cease.

Btw, Aunt Jemima's facial features on that bottle of syrup are not distorted and exaggerated.  In my lifetime I've never seen a black man with red lips before, unless he was gay and wearing red lipstick.  Nor have I ever seen a black man that looks like that picture.

There is no need to claim innocence in knowing that those images are offensive because black folks know without a doubt that claim of innocent would be false.  After all, we've told them that time and time again for nearly one hundred and eleven years.  However, they insist on continuing in their practice of degrading and being offensive towards people of color.

America is supposed to be a melting pot and multicultural, land of opportunity, liberty and justice for ALL country.  The world is beginning to view America as the totally the opposite when it comes to people of color. There is not one nonwhite color group of people who has not experienced discrimination and racism in this country. Our country, lately, has taken it a step further with discrimination towards people with different lifestyles and those with different religious beliefs.

Alrighty then, what if some of our talented young artist  and store owners who are people of color were to begin to do likewise.  How would whites feel with products labeled white paddy, peckerwood, honky, etc.? Would whites so-called nostalgia come into play if the shoe was on the other foot?

Why Are There No Second Chances For People Of Color?

Criminal background checks in the admission process are becoming a trend in colleges across the country in America .  Will these background checks lead to another form of racial profiling and discrimination against black and brown people?

“There are important public policy reasons for colleges to reject this practice,” said Dr. Weissman.  “This is a civil rights issue.  Racial profiling and the heavy concentration of police in low-income, urban neighborhoods have led to extraordinarily high rates of arrest and conviction among young African Americans and Latinos...Based  on these facts,” she continued, “screening for criminal records cannot be a race-neutral practice.” ~~Dr. Marsha Weissman, CCA~~

"The report, The Use of Criminal History Records in College Admissions Reconsidered,” argues that colleges and universities can responsibly refrain from collecting criminal background information because there is no empirical evidence that students with criminal records present a threat to campus safety."~~Center for Community Alternatives~~

The Center for Community Alternatives (CCA) released a reportRead more here

"The problem is this: How do you distinguish between students whose behaviors present a current threat from students who have merely done something stupid in their teenage lives that they now regret? How serious was the crime? How long ago did it happen? Are we talking about a single offense or something that is part of a recurrent pattern?"~~Louis Hirsch, director of admissions at the University of Delaware/Mary Beth Marklein, USA TODAY~~

News flash!  Does it ever occur to those in authority that when a person of color with a criminal record puts in an application to go to college, it might be because they are trying to turn their life around?  Like any other human being sometimes they too mature and come to the realization that they did stupid things when they were young and dumb.  I mean it's not like they have to put in an application for college just to commit a crime.  If they intended to commit a crime, they wouldn't be or have the time to be putting in an application for college.

How can they change their life around if the door is constantly shut in their face for trying?  Is our society instrumental in singling out and blocking second chances to people of color who want to do a 360 degree turn around and become productive members of our society?  Our world is full of those who want to do just that, but they need to be given a chance to do so.

Do All Whites View Blacks As Thugs, Pimps, And Hoes?

Stereotypes are a pet peeve of mine.  I see the damage that stereotypes do and how it leads to demonization of innocent people.  Stereotypes are fed to Americans like apple pie and hotdogs and some people tend to gobble them up as if they are the truth and nothing but the truth. And white folks tend to cling  to every stererotype of blacks as a reality of who black people are as a whole.

Dori Maynard,  president of the Robert C. Maynard Institute for Journalism Education was thrown out of the lobby in the Hampton Inn.  While waiting for one of collegues in the hotel lobby, she had a brief conversation with a guest staying in the hotel.

"Before the GM approached her, Maynard recounts in her blog, she had spoken to just one guest who was in town for the rally -- "an older white guy wearing a T-shirt with the word 'eracism' emblazoned on the back." The two of them, she says, discussed the general mood in the nation, and afterward, she went back to her seat. That's when the manager appeared."~~Monée Fields-White- The ROOT~~

"At one moment on that October morning, she was in the hotel lobby waiting for a colleague, and the next moment, she had a general manager escorting her out of the hotel because she was not a guest and, as he explained it, the hotel had to protect its guests."~~Monée Fields-White- The ROOT~~

Maynard does understand the reason why she was asked to leave.  Well...let me break it down to Ms. Maynard.  Black woman talking briefly to a old white man in a hotel lobby while there is a big event going on equals a hooker in the eyesight of that white hotel manager.

However, if it is any consolation to you Ms. Maynard some Harvard and Yale Alums brothas got kicked out of a new club in Boston called "Club Lounge" that they were giving a private party at because management thought they were ah hem...gangbangers.

The myth that black people are failures academically, unemployed, and lazy has a strong grip in the minds of whites who buy into that falsehood.  In the eyes of some white folks professional and smart academic black people like you do not exist.  Why do they think that?  Because it is drilled into their heads day and night through msm media, television, radio, and books.

Even the so-called black tv stations projects images of young people who are wild, semi-naked gyrating females, gold teeth wearing, forty ounce drinking, marijuana smoking, bling bling wearing gangstas with no substance whatsoever.  In the minds of white folks these are the only black people that exist in this world. Nevermind that you can also see a tantamount of this with whites as well on tv, the movies, etc. too.  All you have to do is check out my sidebar "Tales of Two Hoods" which I haven't changed lately due to the economy to be able to grasp that concept.

When are folks going to stop judging black people by stereotypes?

A Change In The Ordinary Order of Today

There are so many people all around us going through  some depressing and rough times.  My heart goes out to those suffering from major ordeals and crisis in this present time because of the economy.  Therefore, I thought I would do something different today.  Instead of writing a comment on  political or  social issues.  I'm taking a break and doing something different.  Today I'm sharing an inspirational video and asking you to share it with someone you know that might be going through a rough time right  now. I pray that each one of you have a joyful, peaceful, and blessed Thanksgiving Holiday, a day to reflect on those things you are thankful for.  Most of all having a roof over our heads, love ones, food in our belly, clothes on our back, health, and strength should be at the top of that list because there are many people in the world that don't have those things.

Abraham, Farrakhan, and Beck

Abraham Foxman was for Glenn Beck before he was against him and for him after he was against him.  Okay, Abraham I guess your okay with Glenn Beck being chummy with white supremacist  and spooning out bigotry in big doses as long as he claims to support Jewish people.  He is just a little misguided at times so he can easily be excused for his racist propaganda and divisiveness according to you because he supports Jewish people.  What about supporting other groups of people as well wouldn't that fall under what is right and fair too?

Which brings me to a question I have for Abraham.  Why didn't you excuse Farrakhan's statements as misguided?  After all, he did try to make amends with you and made several attempts to sit down with you and have a man to man talk. However, you've went out of your way to continously condemn and destroy him. Why wasn't any forgiveness for being misguided extended to Farrakhan by you?

Beck turned around and attacked you for speaking out against him for attacking Soros; he used an accusatorial tone towards you with a veil threat of revealing some of your hidden activities and  funding of Soros and you changed your tune quick. Some of your own people are starting to question your credibility. Is it  also okay with you that he uses anti-semitic comments, seems to have a Hitler fetish, smears nonwhite folks, and those he considers different from him?

Why can't the brothas get a little love and forgiveness too?  And why does Beck gets a free ride?  Come to think of it, Al Sharpen, Jesse Jackson,Tony Martin were all labeled anti-semetic, and so were quite a few others. Tony Martin fought back with his book.  Farrakhan decided to fight back with a couple of books of his own.  Al Sharpen and Jesse Jackson chose to ignore and go on about their business.

Thinking back, President Obama must have been added to that list, because Eric Cantor went over to Israel and usurped the President's power and met with Israel's leader regarding the President's stance against building those settlements in the President's first term.  The President wrote some books for his daughters and now those books have come under attack because he wrote some positive things about Sitting Bull and Billie Holiday .

America is supposed to be a melting pot with diverse cultures of many groups of people that make up this nation.  Yet, the only groups of people who seem to be being pushed out of the melting pot and constantly downgraded in their contributory accomplishments are nonwhites.  They seem to be the only ones who are targeted for negative reinforcements. When it comes to hateful remarks aimed at them the beat goes on and so does bigotry.

Rick Sanchez was fired from his job and labeled not too bright and a few other things because of the statements he made on CNN about Jewish people.  Beck smears Jewish people and gets to keep his job as long as he smears nonwhite people, including middleclass and poor whites, and others that they deem different from them who believe in equality and justice for ALL. Arsenio Hall's talk show host career ended after he had Farrahkhan on his show.

It appears that  freedom of speech draws the line in the sand when it comes to Jewish people.  There is always two sides to every story.  Does the criteria considered in determining hatred only apply when someone points out  flaws, faults, and wrongdoings of Jewish people? Is hatred towards other groups supposed to be regarded as trivial?  After all, we're all supposed to be human beings aren't we? Isn't all hate the same?

However, people like Beck and Rush Limbaugh are allowed to spout out hate speech, divisiveness, and are regarded with high esteem that they are not worthy of at all just because they support Jewish people. You yourself said that you support Beck, so does that mean that you stand with him in hate for others?  I support Jewish people too, but I do not support hate and wrongdoing. Nor do I support the intentional divisiveness, racism, and hatred that Beck and Rush manufacture and are able to get away.

Before I am labeled, which I could care less, let me say this in my defense.  I am a woman that truly believes that ALL men were created EQUAL and are entitled to be treated fairly with dignity and respect that includes Jewish people. I do not believe in the supremacy of any group of people over another.  I strongly believe in the humanity of every single human being on this earth.  There is only one SUPREME BEING and that is GOD.  I believe in what is right, just, and all human beings whether they are black, white, brown, yellow, or red are entitled to be treated equally; all have the same right to pursue happiness and the American dream. There is good and bad in each human group. None of them have a patent on being perfect.  It is not hard to get along with people, nor is it hard to find something good and positive about people.  Finding flaws, negatives, and faults in all groups of people, is easy too because we all have them.

Uncle Sam's Plantation

Don't worry people who voted for a Teabagger Republican House, the GOP got your back. Well...maybe, not your back...make that a trip to the cleaners planned for you.  Of course with deregulations on the table too, well...the thick smog's benefit to you is that you won't be able to see what hit you.

Bigot...oops, I mean, Representative Steve King plans to make brown people's life a living hell. Yup, he has quite a few crosses to burn with them. Other names on his cross burning list include Attorney General Eric Holder and Homeland Security chief Janet Napolitano.  European immigrants are exempt and not included on his cross burning list.  His list only applies to "nonwhite" immigrants and "Liberals." King needs to be watched real close because I think he is a little color stroke and crazier than a road lizard.

"Terrorists would be "dancing in the streets" if Obama was elected. Then on Monday night he took to the House floor and said that it's easy to tell the illegal immigrants from legal Americans -- the illegal immigrants dress badly."~~House Rep. Steve King~~

Like father like son! Rand Paul, Kentucky's newly elected teabagger’s overseer...oops, I mean GOP Senator has a few plans of his own and is raring to pop his whip passed down to him from his great-great grandpappy that is after he and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell settle their dispute on who is running the GOP Senate Plantation.

When oh when is Michael Steele going to wake up and realize that peeling your lips back to show your teeth and jigging for the Massa does not mean equal status in Massa's eyesight. That chicken, collard greens, and watermelon strategy wasn't such a good idea either. Did he miss the memo that Negroes moved off the Plantation and don't have to steal Massa's chickens no more?  Massa Rush appears to be having another one of his dope addict flashbacks and forgot that he sent Steele to the back of the bus a few months ago.

The GOP reminded Michelle Bachmann and Sarah Palin that it's best to leave leading up to the men, which is polite way of telling them that they are not very bright and missing a few chromosomes.  The GOP doesn't mind them  birthing their BS, poison, bigotry, and divisiveness babies into the population, but leadership positions are out of the question. Thank you Jesus!

Come January people need to get a ringside seat and tune into CSPAN, watch the House of Representatives and Senate in action. CSPAN offers an unedited version that’s not polluted, full of bias opinions, and deception that is being fed to people these days. That’s if you want to be truly informed so that you can make good decisions.  You can rotate back and forth between the channel for House and the channel for Senate.

Nah, The Revolution Won't Be Televised!

Today the so-called bi-partisan committe to reduce the debt came up with a plan to steal grandma and grandpa's check and finish the job of forcing the middleclass to join the homeless population. Will we have to pay property tax on our cardboard boxes under the freeway underpasses? Will we be tax exempt if we file for senior euthanasia?

Excuse my french, but ain't that bout a biscuit. These politicians have lost their pea-brain mind! It is about time for a Million Seniors March on Capitol Hill and tell all seniors to make sure that they bring their walking canes with them so that they can beat some sense into those folks up on Capitol Hill.

Okay, I have a confession to make. Here lately, when I read the so-called brilliant ideas of nitwit politicians I get an urge to pass out size 8 1/2 enemas. There comes a time when you start to wonder to yourself if those folks up on Capitol Hill are intoxicated or if the water fountains around that place need checking or if it is possible that the air vents have been drugged. Smh and singing I shall overcome this urge one day.

Those are the only explanations I can come up with for those folks up on Capitol Hill who keep coming up with some of the most asinine solutions that would make a classroom dummy look like a genius. I've met homeless people and street-wise people on the streets with no education at all that would run circles around some of those folks up on Capitol Hill in the brain department.

I got an idea too, they need to closed down all of those so-called prestigious Universities and throw away the key. That would save them a lot of embarrassment for churning out people like those up on Capitol Hill that apparently have thinking ability that is not worth two dead flies. I'm just saying!

First of all, there is such a thing as supply and demand. If there is no middleclass or poor there is no need to supply the demand because there will no longer be any consumers to buy products and services. Therefore, those that supply the demand will be in the unemployment lines too. Nope, sorry...I forgot those that supply the demand have gotten filthy rich and don't need us consumers anymore. So, that leaves the middleclass and poor in a position of fighting over scraps to survive. It does not take an economist to figure that one out. Welcome to Serfdom of America!

Funny, how the economy is bad, but there are never any suggestions for cuts to the Congress paychecks or retirement or healthcare. Or how they can come up with boat loads of money to run campaigns to get elected, but can't come up with money for the general population. We pay them to rob us!

BackStabbers!

November 2, the people voted, oops I meant some of the people voted for the candidate of their choice.  I am not really surprised at the way things turned out.  Nope, not at all.  After all, so many people couldn't see past selfishness, impatience, racism, and their strong indoctrinated MSM political pundent's addictions.  The day after November 2, many people have woke up to find themselves on a sinking Titanic.

Nor can we forget about certain groups that wanted President Obama to stop whatever he was doing and work on their individual group's need.  People wanted him to wave a magic wand and do what they wanted overnight never giving consideration to the fact that he walked into a HUGE mess that almost booted this country into another depression.  They couldn't visualize him as this picture displays him on the left.  Or could they fathom how busy he was trying to solve the disasters left by the last administration.  They really did want him to be the "magic negro."

No use crying over spilled milk.  One of the problems was BACKSTABBERS lined up with their knives and scissors.  However, I warned the people back in January that the President had backstabbers in his own party.   Evan Bayh was 100% behind the President during the Presidential elections.  It was all good when he thought that he might get that VP spot. However, it didn't work out that way.  Yup, he was supposed to be one of President Obama's closest friends.  In the beginning during the presidential campaign he was all for Health Care Reform.  He wasn't the only one though because there were many more. Now Evan wants to tackle Social Security.

President Obama was the main Democrat that went out, showed support, and campaigned for Joe Liebermann when he was running for re-election. The other Dems did not bother with supporting Liebermann.  To show his gratitude, Liebermann campaigned against President Obama and campaigned for his opponent John McCain and gave him a few problems after the election was over.  Hillary loves her job and is content in it, but the Clintons well...I've often wonder which one of the Clintons came up with the bright suggestion of the President appointing their leftovers for his cabinet, since President Obama admired Mr. Clinton so much.

In addition, the Democrats let the Republicans stall getting the health care bill passed to give them enough time to villify it with the help of MSM.  Furthermore, they let the Republicans play BS games to block all of the President's appointees for different positions and most of them still haven't been confirmed leaving the President's administration crippled.

"The roll call of last night’s essential vote on health care reform shows that the following 34 Democrats in the House of Representatives voted against the legislation:" ~~Irregular Times News Unfit for Print~~

"John Adler – Jason Altmire – Michael Arcuri – John Barrow – Marion Berry – Dan Boren – Rick Boucher – Bobby Bright – Ben Chandler – Travis Childers – Artur Davis – Lincoln Davis – Chet Edwards – Stephanie Herseth Sandlin – Tim Holden – Larry Kissell – Frank Kratovil – Dan Lipinski – Steve Lynch – Jim Marshall – Jim Matheson – Mike McIntyre – Mike McMahon – Charlie Melancon – Walt Minnick – Glenn Nye – Collin Peterson – Mike Ross – Heath Shuler – Ike Skelton – Zack Space – John Tanner – Gene Taylor – Harry Teague"~~Irregular Times News Unfit for Print~~

"They howl about “Obamacare” (a fictional name) and speak of health care reform as a fascist-socialist-totalitarian-secular-Pelosibot disaster. It’s clear that in the minds of Republican fundraisers, the 2010 election season was about rejecting the health care reform that passed earlier in the year. But is that what was in the minds of the voters?"~~Irregular Times News Unfit for Print~~

Nope, the people weren't against the health care reform, they were upset at the Democrats for not standing up to the Republicans and fighting back.  They wanted them to take off the kid gloves and put on their boxing gloves. The people wanted public option included in the health care bill.  In addition,  they wanted President Obama to stop compromising with the GOP and let his manhood voice shine through. In essence the people who supported him wanted him to put that size 11 and 1/2 shoe down.

In the beginning, those professors at Harvard University threw a few knives themselves.  But that is to be expected since the majority of them were Republicans.  The one strong trait that the Republicans have is browbeating and bullying tactics. The Republicans belief is that you agree with them or else. GOP tactics are similiar to strong-armed tactics of organized gangstas sending out hitmen.  If you don't agree with them they'll go out of their way to destroy you through character assassinations with the help of MSM, mainly, Fox We Make Up Lies News. Well...that is if you want to label Fox a news station because it is anything but that.

Rupert Murdoch the  Don over at Fox We Make It Up News along with his Lieutenant Roger Ailes peddled, through their character assassination hitmen, deception and lies off as news to guillible people who lead sheltered lives, Timothy McVeigh and Ruby Ridge type folks that hate government; or those fake Christians that believe Jesus fought in behalf of the rich.  I'm speaking of those Christians that would stab Jesus in his back for the love of money...the modern day Judas.

When the wicked rule, the poor suffers.  Eight years should have taught the people that lesson, I guess it didn't. Nevertheless, the bible said, "And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
However, it's the poor and downtrodden who will be the ones to pay the biggest price behind this last election.  The rich and corporations will be rewarded and the middleclass will join the poor in status.

I WOKE UP THIS MORNING WITH FIRE IN MY BELLY!

I woke up with fire in my belly this morning! The GOP did not win because the people agree with their policies.  They won because people DID NOT SHOW UP at the polls and VOTE. Nevertheless, the GOP is flaunting their win as an rubber stamp from the people which is not true.  Deception from the GOP played a big part in the elections and have been in play every since President Obama ran for the Office of President.

Now that the GOP has won back the house they are showing their true plans for the American people and our President.  They plan to use their victory as a sign that the people are in agreement with them so that they can reward billionaires and millionaires like the Koch Brothers, Rupert Murdoch, Glen Beck, Hannity, and O"Reilly with big fat tax refund checks that will only finish draining our Treasury.  The only concern they have for the middleclass and poor is to drive them into further poverty and turn America into a serfdom and a rich man's paradise.

The GOP did not wait for the elections to cool off before they began letting the people who voted for them know their true intentions and real motive.  However, why is that a surprise to minorities. White bigots have always clung to the notion that a black man cannot lead to bolster their "superiority" myth.

I told Field, I needed a break because I was tired mentally and physically from having too much on my plate.  My body was feeling the fatigue and aching all over from pushing myself day in and day out working on too many projects.  This morning I was reminded that the Lord is my strength and felt a renewed energy.

When the GOP talked about death panels for the elderly, they were referring to themselves.  Making cuts to  the elderly's meager income and medicaid for seniors would be starving seniors to death, limiting their health care, and adding them to the homeless list is a death panel. Think of the elderly in your families who are barely surviving already with the income they have. Seniors don't get a cost of living raise this year nor did they get one last year to keep up with the rising cost of daily living. The GOP wants to cut the seniors basic mandatory survival needs. So, now who is the real death panel?

Those of you who are gay and voted for the GOP well...here is a little tidbit of information for you.  In addition, here is an example of what the GOP really thinks about jobs.  So, tough luck to those of you who are unemployed in Ohio that voted for your new Governor.  To those who didn't vote for him it might be a good idea to start rallying up the people for a recall of your new governor before he does anymore damage. I"m just saying times are hard right now and rejecting 8,000 jobs does not sound like a winner.

Yes, I want President Obama to put his foot down and say NO to GOP policies.  And yes, I want him to stop compromising with those whose only desire is to see him fail.  Nevertheless, I refuse to sit back and let another black man be lynched by a modern day lynch mob.  He told us in the beginning during his victory speech that he couldn't do it alone and he can't.  He cannot fight those who control the media and money alone.  The President asked in the beginning for our help and he really does need it.  Flood the White House with letters to the President and Congress and let your voice be heard loud and clear.  Tell your family, friends, neighbors, and people you come in contact with to the tell the President to say HELL NO to GOP I will not COMPROMISE ANYMORE!  The people have spoken.

America Sold To The Highest Bidder!

Well the elections are over and America has been sold to the highest bidder.  I'd like to congratulate the Koch brothers, GOP, the brought and paid for MSM political pundents, and the TeaNuts on their victory.  The majority of American people have spoken.  They loved the policies of Bush and tax cuts for the rich and the feudal system. The GOP and TeaNuts want that *nigger* out of the "sacred WHITE House" and they've said it loud and clear with their votes. They've taken back their country so now do they want all of those of us they hate so much to leave their country?

When President Obama won the Presidential elections, Americans claimed that we had reached a post-racial America.  President Obama won that election fair and square even though the other sides cheated left and right.  His background was too squeaky clean so they tried to smear him.  That didn't work.  They invaded his church and smeared his pastor, disrupted their worship hour at his church, made a mockery of his faith. That didn't work. The number of electoral votes needed kept changing all throughout the election.  That didn't work.  So, next was the smears labeling the President weak and he doesn't want to help his own people.  He's racist towards whites, a nazi, etc., etc. etc...

Okay, now that the Republicans control the house let's see exactly what they plan to do.  Will they be instrumental in helping companies to ship jobs overseas, more deregulations, privatizing Social Security, eliminating education, lowering student grants, and all the other little goodies that they want to do so much to screw the American people?  Yeah, the Republicans are in the house and Nancy Pelosi the first female speaker has been demoted, degraded, smeared and kicked to the curb.

Palin and Bachmann are held up now as the type of women they want in leadership.  So, if there are any other women with deficiencies in the brain department and have bigoted perspectives...please  go ahead and apply.  America loves  dummies, liars, bigots, and snarky women and despises women with class and intelligence.

Granny plans sit it out in complete silence from here on out as far as politics go.  The people have spoken and they will be getting what their choices deserve. There is no such thing as the United States of America.  That is a myth!  We have never been United and from the looks of it, we never will be.  Thank God I live in United California.

Who Woulda Thought

McDonalds in Canton, Ohio slipped an added bonus in envelopes with their employees paycheck.  Only it wasn't extra money.  Nope!  The added bonus was voter intimidation.

What kid in America does not recognize the McDonalds' sign?  I don't know what it is about McDonalds that draws kids like the piped piper. Is it Ronald McDonald or the free toy that comes with the Happy Meal?  I dunno, but kids love McDonalds.

After finding out what McDonalds has been up to regarding midterm elections, my grandkids had better acquire a taste for Burger King. From here on out McDonalds is off limits and will be on my boycott list.

Mostly Hispanic/Latinos are employed at all of the McDonalds in California.  I don't know if it is the same in Canton, Ohio. However, if it is people need to know that McDonalds is targeting that group with voter intimidation.  It reminds me of back in the day during the Civil Rights Movement.  People actually died for the right to vote for the candidate of their choice.  For McDonalds to pull something like that is an affront to all citizens of America and a threat to our Democracy.

Are Americans Plum Crazy?

Either Americans are plum crazy or the news media is deceiving the people.  There is no way in the world that people in their right mind that if a snake bite them once that they would want it to bite them again. That just isn't logical I don't care how you look at it.

Nevertheless, I've been keeping a close eye on the polls over at Hufffingtonpost.  What's strange is for some reason the numbers next to the Democrat candidate has not changed one point since I first begin keeping an eye on them a few weeks ago.  However, the majority of people say that they are voting for Democrats in the midterm. One or two people say that they are voting for Republicans.  Okay, so how is that all the polls are showing that Republicans are leading in the House?  That's where the bills are first brought to the floor and they propose new laws. In addition, that is where a bill is killed before it even reaches the Senate. Do folks really want to hand over the House to the Party of  "NO."

After all, who in their right mind would want to vote for a party that wants to steal grandma and grandpa's check and close down public schools so that millions of little Susies and Tommies can stay at home seven days a week?  Or a party that intends to cut minimum wages, outsourced jobs, and cause the low-income and middleclass to have a turf war over cardboard  boxes space under some freeway underpath in America? Okay, I'm just kidding about the turf war over cardboard boxes space, but then...the way this country will be headed if the GOP gets back in control you never know that might become a reality.

Let me just summed up what the GOP party wants to do:

1) Abolish minimum wage laws which would force American workers to work for less pay
2) Block unemployment benefits forcing millions of Americans to literally starve
3) Slash Social Security benefits-even up to half of what they are now forcing senior citizens to literally starve
4) Gut Medicare funding
5) Gut Medicaid funding
6) Abolish Department of Education
7) Abolish Department of Energy
8) Abolish the Veteran's Administration
9) Cut much state financial aid needed to avoid massive layoffs of teachers, police, fire, etc.
10) Cut of state aid would have a trickle down effect on local municipalities/suburbs-forcing them to do layoffs of police, fire, as well as close libraries, etc.
11) Will defund various categories of new heath care reform stripping millions of Americans of much needed access to quality health care
12) Will reverse aspects of financial reform to aid corporate/wall street in the continuation of unscrupulous practices against Americans
13) Will extend tax cuts for the richest 2% adding an additional $830 billion more in deficits
14) Will block funding for homeless veterans and homeless women
15) Will disregard the needs of middle America, minorities and the poor
16) Will work toward increased privatization of prisons
17) Will block lending programs/tax breaks for small businesses
18) Will paralyze the Obama administration with endless subpoenas and investigations in hopes of impeaching President Obama
19) Will literally shut down the government by defunding programs
20) Will repeal the 14th amendment which provides citizenship to all people born in the U.S.
21) Will kill cap and trade efforts
22) Will slash food stamp programs
23) Will roll back and repeal equal rights for gays
24) Will privatize Social Security
25) Will cut education spending along with college student aid

Now I ask you is their agenda in behalf of "We the People" or in behalf of corporations and the rich?

Poor People Need Toilet Paper Too!

When Jimmy McMillan for the party of "The Rent Is Too Damn High" appeared on the debate for the New York's Governor's race, people were laughing and make jokes out it.  However, you got to give McMillan some credit.  He voiced an issue that is one real concern and opinion of what  people think.  The rent is too high and so are prices on just about everything from gas to food and everything we as consumers buy. Therefore, in reality was what McMillan said really that funny?

For the last eight years we've been hearing about the needs of the "middleclass working folks" but the pleads for the "low income" and the "poor" are silent as if they are people that do not exist.  Either your rich or middleclass is what only seems to resonate amongst politicians.  In the Senate race the Republican candidate John Raese wants to do away with minimum wages and so do a few other Republican candidates. Paladino wants to take it to an extreme and round up the poor and put them in modern day debt prisoner camps.

Many are quick to tell stories of how they pulled themselves up by their bootstraps and worked for meager wages too back in the day.  However, we're not back in the day when items were cheaper. Today, products and services are ridiculously high. Senior citizens who have worked hard all their lives are bearing the blunt of it with no cost of living raise. Those making minimum wages are barely able to keep a roof over their head and eat.

Yeah, I remember the back in the day when you could buy a candy bar for three cents, gas was fifteen cents a gallon, and you could buy a steak for a $1.00; an average new house cost $8450.00 and a new car was $1510.00.  In the 1940s gas was three cents a gallon.  In the 1930s you could buy a stove or washing machine for the same amount it takes to fill your gas tank up these days.  Nevertheless, this is 2010 and we're living in the days of pure greed and eliminating minimum wages would be devastating to low-income people.

If times are hard for middleclass folks and they are barely surviving, do politicians ever take into account when making their decisions that is three times harder for those at the poverty level? Yet and still, the GOP folks want to snatch the safety net completely out from under them.

Counting To Ten!

I had to count to ten today afer reading the news today. Yup! Clarence Thomas's wife Virginia called Anita Hill to ask her to apologize to her husband. Should rape victims apologize to their perpetrators too Virginia?
Apparently, no one on the right side believes in normal decorum.

Well...Virginia on behalf of every single woman that has been a victim of jerks like your husband, I am demanding an apology from you. In addition, I demand that you and your husband apologize to Anita Hill. I pray that other women will stand up on behalf of Anita and flood you with letters demanding an apology to all women for your insult to womanhood.

Virginia Beach Republican Party chair Dave Bartholomew is openly letting us black and brown folks know that he thinks about us. Well...not quite openly, maybe he took the coward's route and put it in an email that he knew would get out. He is not fooling me! I'm sure he knows that emailing derogatory racial slurs do get out. BTW, Dave save your fake ass apology. We in the black and brown community have grown tired of apologies from folks like you, especially when we know that you don't mean them.

"MY DOG
I went down this morning to sign up my Dog for welfare.
At first the lady said, “Dogs are not eligible to draw welfare”.
So I explained to her that my Dog is black, unemployed, lazy, can’t speak English and has no frigging clue who his Daddy is.
So she looked in her policy book to see what it takes to qualify…
My Dog gets his first check Friday.
Is this a great country or what?"  ~~Dave Barthlomew, GOP Virginia Beach Chair~~

Man up! Isn't that what your party has been yelling from the right side of the political spectrum?  Why don't you practice what you preach?  Oh...I see that Dave tried to kill two birds with one stone in his email and included those people who don't speak English.  That's rich coming from a slimeball bigot like Dave.  I hate to be the one to rain of Dave's parade, but Black and Brown folks are well aware that your party hates us and is full of bigots. We are reminded of it with this and this and this.

Hey...but the GOP and Teaparty folks are not racist.  Nope, they are white supremacist!

Flip Flopping and Living Large!

Okay, the GOP party was against the Stimulus Bill before they were for it.  President Bush signed the first Stimulus Bill...the one the BANKERS got. So, now how did the stimulus package for the Bankers wind up President Obama's fault?

I thought us seniors were the only ones that have memory lapses, but I might have to rethink that. That's if I can remember to.  However, it seems that there are a lot of Americans out there who seem to be having some serious memory lapses.  I admit sometimes I forget where I put my keys at, sometimes I might even forget a name, but I did not forget who signed the bill to give bankers money. Nor did I forget who got us into this mess in the first place.

The GOP party claims that President Obama's stimulus package for jobs is not working, they voted unanimously against it, tried to block it, and are constantly declaring that it has not worked. Well...can someone tell me why those who opposed it have got their hands out and are sneaking behind doors requesting some of that stimulus money to guess what...produce jobs? In addition, why are they claiming praise for it?

Is everyone living in West Virginia rich like Republican nominee for Senate John Raese, because he wants to eliminate minimum wages? I guess, they don't have any McDonalds, Walmarts, or jobs for students in West Virginia. If there any folks out that way that are living paycheck to paycheck, working two and three jobs to be able to eat and pay the bills they had better start packing up and leaving West Virginia pronto because John Raese does not care about poor folks.

Sharron Angle bakes the cake and burns it too. Why the people in the Nevada even want to let her get close to a Senate seat is beyond me. She doesn't even know the difference between a Hispanic or an Asian. Boy, I tell ya between the "I'm a witch" and "I can see Russia from my backyard."  Oh...btw, now, Palin is seeing Nov 2 from her backyard. In my honest opinion, Palin sure does see a lot of things from her backyard. I wish she could see a mental institution for all of those folks on the right from her backyard.

Dumbistan!

What is the GOP solution to balancing the budget? End education, take away seniors income and give it to CEOs,take food and shelter away from the poor; give the power back to the CEOs instead of doctors to decide who should live and who should die, more deregulation, and outsourcing of jobs. And the rich live happily ever after.

So far us Californians are not buying the teaparty's offer. We are still reeling from the Terminator's policies that have stripped our education system down to a skeleton. However, states like Nevada, Alaska, Florida, wisconsin, Ohio, Kentucky, and a few more states seem to be in favor of the GOP teaparty candidates whether they are qualified or not.

According to the polls the GOP party will be taking back control of the House and Senate. And those who stand to suffer the most from their policies love it! Either the people are having a bit of "Bush years" notalgia and missing the days of corruption in mortgage and lending, banking business, and big corporation trickled up economics or they are bewitched. If it is the latter, praying folks better pray harder that the people snap out of it before November 2.

Although there is another explanation for the polls showing favorable ratings for the GOP party I've noticed going on this midterm election season. Democrats haven't been getting any telephone calls from the polling people. Usually about this time, my telephone would be ringing off the hook. However, my phone hasn't rung once for this midterm election. Strange thing is that most people I've asked say they've been experiencing the same thing and tell me that they haven't been getting any either. Only the Republicans have.

Depression could be another explanation. It is an emotion that will sometimes affect people's thinking and have them not thinking at all. Due to the mortgage and job crises it is understandable and perceivable that the majority of Americans are depressed and not being rational right now. I mean no one would hurt their own-self unless they have some type of mental disorder.

And face it with all the stress people are going through right now there are plenty of mental disorders spreading around right about now. That's the only rational way to explain people voting for people like this and this and this and this.

On November 2, I plan to make sure that my vote is counted win or lose because it is not over until the "Fat Lady Sings."

Here We Go Again!

Sometimes Anonymous people take their BS a little bit too far.  An Anonymous person is expressing their disappointment with the government by paying for a billboard sign whose main ingredients consist of four Ds...disrespectful, degrading, denigrating, and downright ignorant.

"Snover says the picture shows what some call Mr. Obama's four faces."~~Don Coleman,kjct8.com~~

"He's depicted as a terrorist, a mobster, an illegal immigrant, and a gay man as he gambles with different values that America stands for."~~Don Coleman,kjct8.com~~

I'd like to know what values the President has gambled away.  If the two men behind this billboard sign consider racism, lies, eliminating public schools, outsourcing jobs, banks & mortgage companies cheating people out of their homes; robbing the working class and poor to give to the rich as values Americans stand for.  I am ashamed to be called an American.

President Obama has presented himself as totally refined gentleman since he came on the political scene who possesses class as well as charisma.  The President has demonstrated that he is well-mannered and intelligent.  Never once has he demonstrated any of the ugly, nasty, and racist behavior that the rightwing folks have shown us since the elections in 2009.  He has held his cool even though he walked into a big mess created by his predecessor and his cronies.

If the artist had any lick of sense, he would have been trying to draw and paint those retarded imbeciles on the right some brains because Lord knows they are lacking in that department.  Nevertheless, look at it this way.  In their attempt to paint the President in a negative way, they've put their racism on display in full plain view for all to see. Those rightwing folks just don't know when to quit do they?

GOP's Solution For America...Privatize It!

The teabaggers and rightwing party want to privatize the whole government!  That is exactly what all this hollering about less government is really about.  It is not just about cutting taxes for the rich, it's about making the pot sweeter for the future CEO's of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA CORPORATION nicknamed Uncle Sam. This is what their future plans for America are if they get back in power.

Yeah, I know that sounds crazy, huh?  Or like another conspiracy theory, huh?  But think about it.  They want to privatize Social Security and a few other government agencies. Any government agency that is collecting money they want to privatize. Any government agency that is paying out money they want to eliminate it.  It's about profits and making money.  Good old fashion capitalism and greed...

Back when Healthcare was privatized  remember how HMOs which are corporations made the decision who should live and who should die, who could be treated and who would not be treated. They were overriding doctors prescribed medical treatments for patients.  In essence the HMOs were making the medical decision instead of  licensed Doctors. HMOs did not and would not cover the Doctors prescribed treatment not even in life or death situations.

If they were to privatize Social Security they would be headed by CEOs and the corporations would decide who gets it and who doesn't.  It wouldn't matter who paid into it and who didn't.  It didn't matter with HMOs who had paid into it when they rejected their claims did it? People lost a lot of money when the economy went bad with those 401K plans too. The CEOs would cut down claims to a bare minimum so that they could get those big bonus payments off the top and if they mismanage Social Security they get an even bigger severance pay check like AIG and the Bankers were giving out.

Why are they so anxious to get their hands on Social Security?  Is it really because the funds are running out and because of babyboomers or is it because there is a lot of money to be made?  A couple of years ago I tried to tell the people that those Bankers were playing a game and an eye needed to be kept on them. No one paid me any attention, until it came to the light and they almost brought America to its knees.  And how big a role does Wall Street play in the game with the up and down scoreboard?

Since all of these corporations are donating millions to the GOP election fund the economy must not be doing too bad.  At least it is not doing too bad for the CEOs and those corporations. And yet they want a tax cut while the middleclass and poor are the ones that are really suffering from losing their homes, jobs, etc.  I am not an accountant, but looks like to me those millions in donations corporations are making would make  decent wages in a paycheck for a few people who are unemployed right about now.  I'm just saying.

Corporations have money to burn when it comes to elections when they want a certain party to win, which is like gambling because the money they donate does not guarantee that party will win.  However, they are laying off folks left and right who have families to take care of and mouths to feed.  Corporations have been known to lay off people when they want to give the CEOs a bonus.  How many people did they lay off to donate money in the elections for GOP party?

Burn, Baby Burn!

Well...Tennessee has come up with a new way to punish people who don't pay their bills.  Yup! Burn, baby, burn.

The firemen watched this man's house burn down to the ground and didn't lift a finger to save it.  The firemen didn't even splash a bucket of water on it.  Gone are all of this man and his families possession, their pets, and the house.  The bill was only $75.

In case of failure to pay a bill does this  apply if people are trapped in the burning house too? I pray that this policy does not spread to any other states.  However, leave it up to Glen Beck and those crazy folks on the right it could happen.  According to Glen you don't want your neighbor sponging water off you that you've paid for to put out his fire. Who cares if his house is burning down.  He should have paid his bill.  Smh!

I pray that this man and his family are blessed with a better house and more than he had before.

Above the Law

When a victim gets the time and the predator gets probation, it's time to do some spring cleaning.

A fifteen year old girl was raped by a juvenile counselor.  He got probation and she was sentenced to a year in juvenile for a minor offense.  However, this is not his first sexual offense involving a minor. Are people employed in law enforcement above the law?  In order to escape a jail sentence for a crime nowadays all you have to be is a law enforcement employee and you can commit serious crimes from murder to rape and not worry about going to jail or prison.

A federal judge was busted for cocaine and guns.  Apparently, his stripper snitched on him. But the Judge doesn't have to worry because his case will be dismissed and he'll get a slap on the wrist because his attorney William Morrison presented this argument in his defense:

"This is really a case between Judge Camp and his wife," said Morrison. "It's not about Judge Camp being a judge. It's about him being a husband."~~Greg Bluestein, Huffingtonpost~~

Do y'all get it?  In other words, this is not a criminal case.  Naaah...this is a personal matter between him and his wife.  Where was Morrison at when President Clinton needed him?

There are some good folks in law enforcement, but the only thing is when they expose those who aren't they lose their jobs.

"Before that settlement, the judge issued the pretrial ruling that described how Seifert was pressured to play along with a cover-up that started soon after the crash. Officers at the crash scene failed to report or photograph Bowling’s injuries or report what witnesses said, the judge wrote." ~~JOE LAMBE -The Kansas City Star~

"Instead, Police Officer Robert Lane told Bowling he was going to jail because DEA agents “do pretty much whatever they want,” the judge wrote."~~JOE LAMBE -The Kansas City Star~

"After Seifert spoke to Bowling in jail, though, the detective told a boss that internal affairs should take the case instead. Seifert got it anyway and called Lane to ask why there were no witness reports." ~~JOE LAMBE -The Kansas City Star~

“It would look bad for DEA agents,” Lane replied, according to the judge’s report, adding that police “should cover for them.” ~~JOE LAMBE -The Kansas City Star~

Well...no one can accuse law enforcement folks of not sticking together and covering each others backs when they break the law.  Law enforcment people practice that "no snitch" policy too. After all, who wants to be added to the high unemployment rate statistics. Jobs are hard to come by nowadays. The way things have been going on the jobs front you never know when they might start outsourcing law enforcement jobs too.  I'm just saying.
