Post-Racial America Was A Joke!

Well...here's an odd twist of what it is like to live in post-racial America.  Last night, the story of an interracial couple was viewed on HBO, the Loving Story.  Here is 2012 and the racial issue hasn't been solved yet.  That's because there are a lot of people who hate.  They hate people with different skin colors and different sexual orientations.

"A crime and politics blogger living in Austin, Texas, claims he was cuffed and detained by police for simply walking home with his five-year-old granddaughter." ~~

Here is a man walking with his granddaughter.  The girl is not frightened or crying or acting like anything is wrong.  However, this man was arrested for walking with his granddaughter who is heaven forbid to some folks...black! She takes her skin color after her black parent; therefore, there is no skin tattletell sign that she is bi-racial, which is not as unusual as some folks might think.

There are many dark-skinned bi-racial offsprings that exist.  I know this because there are many within my own family tree. Bi-racial children range in various skin colors just like black people range in various shades of color.

Speaking of hate, the GOP party of NO, must really have it in for women.  First they want to highjack your uterus and now, well...this...  If your a woman that's having some violent domestic problems, don't look for any sympathy from the GOP party.  Nope, instead looks like you better start enrolling in some self-defense courses or maybe keep a pot of hot grits handy.  Nevertheless, I can't help but wonder which of those on the GOP side of the fence are beating their wives or girlfriends. I'm just saying!

Black and Brown men alert!  Looks like the Corporations have come up with a slick way of being slave owners.  It is no secret that prisons are modern day plantations.  If this comes to past, look for the arrest rate to go up and also innocent people arrest rate as well.

Attention states with a corrections budget crunch: the Corrections Corporation of America is here to help. The Huffington Post reports that the for-profit prisons giant sent letters to 48 states offering to buy up their prisons in exchange for a 20-year management contract and the guarantee that the facilities would be at least 90 percent full.~~Ryan Reilly, TPM~~

In addition to the potential loss of state jobs, Fasano said that another issues raised by the privatization of prisons is that companies can “cherry pick” only the prisons which are less costly (meaning they have younger, healthier or less-violent inmates).~~Ryan Reilly, TPM~~

Notice that they want young healthy men.  I wonder do they plan to have slave auction block sales.  Next, they'll want women prisoners to use as breeders to produce more healthy slaves so they can make a profit.

So Granny, are you saying that the problem in 2012 is hatred of whites? Because the Grandfather in question was a white man. The police were hassling a white man in a sincere attempt to protect a young black girl. How do you twist this as some sort of anti-black or anti-miscegenation story?

Michael, naw that's not what I'm saying at all. In 2012 there shouldn't be any racial problems, period! That man should have been allowed to walk with granddaughter just as much as a black one should be able to walk with his granddaughter if she had white skin.

In 2012, people should now be able to see people as individuals and human beings instead of stereotypes. Or to take it one step further economical status and the list goes on.

I'm not twisting the story, it speaks for itself and illustrates how not only does racism (color arousal) affect minorities, it affects whites too. When MLK marched, he did not march just for black people, he marched for white people to because they both needed to be set free from the bondage of racism. Hate is destructive, it destroys and in it's extreme form kills.

Yes*, I agree, but you can't ignore common sense. The police saw a white man walking off with a little black girl and became concerned. If they had ignored the situation and not profiled, and that little girl had wound up abducted, it would have been a terrible thing.

The fact is, an older white man walking with a little black girl is a rarer thing than, say, a young black woman walking with a little black girl and is going to garner more attention.

If it were me, I would understand. My inconvenience is the price to pay for terrible things that happen in the world.

*I thought you were a Democrat? The whole idea behind that party is seeing people as members of groups, not as individuals.

I doubt very seriously, if a man who has kidnapped a black child would go walking down the street in the open daylight with her. More than likely a kidnapper would be trying to stay out plain view. Nor would they offer telephone numbers for verification, so that the police could call the child's mother.

Nevertheless, it is good to be safe than sorry, but in this case the girl had told them the first time that he was her grandfather. What is their excuse for stopping him the second time a few blocks away? Police have ways of communicating between each other on those little walkie talkie gadgets in their cars and on their persons.

The sad thing is that with so many instances of child molestation in the news, it was almost understandable...almost.

Yes, Beyond, that is the truth too. We really need to come up with better solutions to protect children in this day and time.
