Slavery Video Game???

UPDATE!  APPARENTLY THIS IS A HOAX.

Today, I had planned to write a topic about “The Help”, but something else was brought to my attention, so instead, I am going to write about it.  Some folks must really be longing for the good ole days because now someone has come up with a new video game called “Slavery”.
“Ever since our SO-CALLED Black leaders began allowing people to speak RECKLESS about President Obama, the level of PUBLIC DISRESPECT against Black people has reached EPIC PROPORTION.”~~Mediatakeout~~

This is not only disrespect to our President, but it is disrespect to ALL black people. The attacks since day one have been racist in content and not political attacks of policies. For example: A Congressperson calling the President “Tar Baby”. However, when folks on the right attack this President it has something to do with skin color and racist stereotypes.  Not one black person attacked President Bush’s or any of the other 43 President"s skin color or all white people.   It was always about their policies. However, this is not the case with President Obama. Nope, instead they are attacking, disrespecting, and insulting ALL black people.

There appears to be those in our so-call free society, land of liberty, that seem to think that black folks place is in a servile positions and that they don't deserve to be apart of the "American Dream" because of the color of their skin. Yup, there are some folks  who seem to think the only deserving people who have a right to that dream are lily white rich folks. Therefore, they hold up and praise people with Confederate leanings and aspiring wannabe slave owners like Michelle Bachmann and Rick Perry.

The only people that seem to be speaking out and protesting against this study flow of racist insults seem to be some Black bloggers. Where are the Black Caucus and NAACP organization at and where is their outrage? Have they grown weary or have they grown fearful or have they been brought too? Why are they not standing up and speaking out against the racist insults and disrespect towards our President and Black people is beyond me. Are they out of touched with the black community? Are the Color of Change Organization and Al Sharpton the only ones that have guts enough to stand up against bigotry?

Travis Smiley and Cornell West have joined the rightwing in bashing the President, but where is their bull horn in speaking out against all of the racist stereotypes and racist disrespect that has been aimed at this President and Black people. Talk about poverty, slavery was a big factor in poverty for black people since it involved “free labor”.  Slavery is a subject that is, constantly, being brought up by the rightwing and Teaparty candidates running for President, lately.   Yup, they seem to longing for the good ole days of picking cotton when they could call us darkies any denigrating name they felt like, disrespect us however they felt like doing, and treating us less than human legally.

People can sit back thinking that it will never happen, but think about this, it happened after Reconstruction and there were those who thought the same thing.  People it is time to stand up and say ENOUGH!   Skip the empty apologies.

The Slavery game has been expected and it looks like a game many will play. What would you have Blacks do, ban it? This is a freedom of speech country. If you don't want to play it, then don't.

Re:Obama being called racist names, it is and will be expected. We live in a racist country where Blacks are the least favored. It has always been that way since slavery and it will always remain that way.

Hell, even Obama treats Blacks like crap. What do you want from Blacks? There is no such thing as a unified black community...we are a very splintered race where we ourselves participate in racism, not only against others but against ourselves.

"The Help" was a great heartfelt movie with superb acting. It will be an Academy Award winner.

@Anonymous yes this is a freedom of speech country and maybe many will play, but why create a game that stems from blacks pain and suffering and dredge up old memories. What they are doing is starting something that will have a backlash that will damage this country more than back in slavery. As far as blacks being the least favored I would have to disagree with you on that. If we are so unfavored. Why is it that Hip-Hop is the most highly paid genre? Why is it that you have all these white kids trying to emulate blacks? Wearing their clothes like us? Talking like us? Tell me that, and that is not only the white kids in urban areas I'm talking about the kids of the politicians who try so hard to knock the President for being just what their kids want to be BLACK. Please and as for President Obama treating blacks like crap. That is just what you said a load of crap. How has he treated blacks like crap by trying to get things done while having the House of Racist against everything he is doing. The one thing I am in total agreement with you on is that we live in a racist country. I am glad you noticed that wish the Tea Party, Fox News and all these other Republicans would start to noticed cause everything they do to stop or President has nothing to do with policies or views it has everything to do with Race, and if they want to go back to Slavery I will tell you this. They are in for a surprise cause this time Blacks well finally get a chance to rewrite history and for once we will be the Majority and not Minority race. (Please forgive any typo's or run-ons I was trying to get everything out but had so much to say.)

BTW, do not worry about your typo's or run-ons or spelling either because there are no grammar police on here, granny don't play that. As long as they know what you mean that's all that counts. Besides, I make errors sometimes too, who cares. :)

Well, the slaves don't look like they are Black, so why not? BTW, if Rev Sharpton has no gripes about it, then it must be ok. And what about Obama? he hasn't said a damn word. But he doesn't say much anyway.

You might fine the game fun. I bet a lot of Blacks will be playing it.

Thanks for that information. People need to quit playing games because that is one hoax that is not funny at all. Whoever did that needs a knuckle sandwich and some knockout punch. Once again, thanks and I love ya too.

I'm trying to finish up my next topic "The Help".

Ever notice how Germany bans displays of Nazi paraphernalia unless such displays are in a purely historical content? That's why you don't have people over there publically pining for a return to Nazism and the like.

The game is a hoax, but it shows how far people are willing to go to psychologically prep people into doing more than just indulging in dog whistles and verbal racism. I guess we'll have to see the "WHITES" and "COLOREDS ONLY" signs pop back up before people finally "get it."

You made a good point and I agree with you. Even if it is or isn't a hoax, it's not funny the least bit in no shape, form, or fashion, or something to be taken lightly.

Hoax or not, it simply doesn't matter. Black people are simply sensationalism fodder for those wanting to increase the attention (or in the case of talking heads) or ratings. Jews or even gays would never be so regularly offended as African-Americans. It shows a lack of respect (and taking advantage of the lack of unity)

Good point. However, we've always have been used as fodder because we're the scapegoat card for whatever ails America, especially when the economy is bad. Nevertheless, what makes it worse is we have some of our own people like Jesse Lee Peterson who will sell their soul to the devil, in order to make a dollar, that make a living out denegrating their own people, which only adds fuel to the fire.
