Do Some Things Stay The Same?

Today I thought I'd do something different and have an old school concert. Music is something that has always brought people together. That's why I like old school music because it had meaning and sometimes it was prophetic if you think about it. Does the world really keep on spinning or do we as human beings keep walking in circles and wind up back where we started from? Listen to the words of each song carefully and afterwards I'd like to hear your views on how much we've progressed.

It is as if we continue to go down the same path over and over again. It seems like when we get a few trendsetters or people that do want to stand of something....they get shunned or dismissed and we go back through the same crap over and over again. The songs speak of these cycles and a lot of times how sad it is.

Those old Soul Trains are fun just for the clothes & hair styles.

Granny, I LOVE your collection, thanks so much.

Hmm, well, I think colorblind racism began around this time, and the scab seems to be off, the really mental kkk types sound worse now than they did then, and the good things is that there are a lot more people talking about things now, it's my opinion that MLK said, "Now is the time", and it was the time in that moment, I think we are at a point our collective American history, where Now is the Time really means something powerful again, I want to look to the positive side of this.

First, let me say I enjoyed listening to the music from my day, now to answer your question...Nothing CHANGED it is ALL THE SAME...A BALL OF CONFUNSION...We are still WARRING with other countries...THE AMERICAN PEOPLE NEED TO WAKE UP

With that said, more of us must continue to try and make a difference AND STOP SITTING ON THE DOCK OF THE BAY. Finally, I will be dead and gone before THE WORLD GET ON BOARD AND RIDE THE LOVE TRAIN.

Girl, you hit the nail on the head. What size hammer do you use? Can I borrow one? :)

Kathy:

"Now is the time"

Yeah, now is the time but will us Americans wake up and see it before it's too late? Opportunity only knocks once. After that many years pass before it knocks again.

Bob:
One of my little cousins was a regular dancer on Soul Train. Yeah, those hairstyles and wide bell bottom legs do bring back memories of fun. However, it was, also, a time when everyone was giving peace signs but there was no peace.

Blinders:
You summed it up with that statement and made it clear.

This is the music I listen to daily. Of course I'll add a little Luther Vandross too, but this is basically it. Maybe because the music had so much meaning then or maybe because today's music is so bad. Either way, this is probably the music that I'll always listen to.

Thanks for the concert.
