Republican candidate for governor Carl Paladino wants to convert prisons into permanent housing for all welfare recipients. That's not all his plan calls for either. Nope!

"Paladino laid out several plans that included converting underused state prisons into centers that would house welfare recipients. "Instead of handing out the welfare checks, we'll teach people how to earn their check. We'll teach them personal hygiene ... the personal things they don't get when they come from dysfunctional homes," Paladino said. ~~Beth Fouhy, Huffingtonpost~~
"These are beautiful properties with basketball courts, bathroom facilities, toilet facilities. Many young people would love to get the hell out of cities,"Paladino said.

Paladino is running for Governor, but is clueless to the fact that there is a Federal law in place that requires welfare recipients to work for the cash grants. Apparently, he thinks that prisons are luxury resorts and not substandard facilities. Hey...I have a better idea. Why don't we use those prisons to house those rightwing folks and corporate welfare guys.
