Who Woulda Thought

McDonalds in Canton, Ohio slipped an added bonus in envelopes with their employees paycheck.  Only it wasn't extra money.  Nope!  The added bonus was voter intimidation.

What kid in America does not recognize the McDonalds' sign?  I don't know what it is about McDonalds that draws kids like the piped piper. Is it Ronald McDonald or the free toy that comes with the Happy Meal?  I dunno, but kids love McDonalds.

After finding out what McDonalds has been up to regarding midterm elections, my grandkids had better acquire a taste for Burger King. From here on out McDonalds is off limits and will be on my boycott list.

Mostly Hispanic/Latinos are employed at all of the McDonalds in California.  I don't know if it is the same in Canton, Ohio. However, if it is people need to know that McDonalds is targeting that group with voter intimidation.  It reminds me of back in the day during the Civil Rights Movement.  People actually died for the right to vote for the candidate of their choice.  For McDonalds to pull something like that is an affront to all citizens of America and a threat to our Democracy.

Are Americans Plum Crazy?

Either Americans are plum crazy or the news media is deceiving the people.  There is no way in the world that people in their right mind that if a snake bite them once that they would want it to bite them again. That just isn't logical I don't care how you look at it.

Nevertheless, I've been keeping a close eye on the polls over at Hufffingtonpost.  What's strange is for some reason the numbers next to the Democrat candidate has not changed one point since I first begin keeping an eye on them a few weeks ago.  However, the majority of people say that they are voting for Democrats in the midterm. One or two people say that they are voting for Republicans.  Okay, so how is that all the polls are showing that Republicans are leading in the House?  That's where the bills are first brought to the floor and they propose new laws. In addition, that is where a bill is killed before it even reaches the Senate. Do folks really want to hand over the House to the Party of  "NO."

After all, who in their right mind would want to vote for a party that wants to steal grandma and grandpa's check and close down public schools so that millions of little Susies and Tommies can stay at home seven days a week?  Or a party that intends to cut minimum wages, outsourced jobs, and cause the low-income and middleclass to have a turf war over cardboard  boxes space under some freeway underpath in America? Okay, I'm just kidding about the turf war over cardboard boxes space, but then...the way this country will be headed if the GOP gets back in control you never know that might become a reality.

Let me just summed up what the GOP party wants to do:

1) Abolish minimum wage laws which would force American workers to work for less pay
2) Block unemployment benefits forcing millions of Americans to literally starve
3) Slash Social Security benefits-even up to half of what they are now forcing senior citizens to literally starve
4) Gut Medicare funding
5) Gut Medicaid funding
6) Abolish Department of Education
7) Abolish Department of Energy
8) Abolish the Veteran's Administration
9) Cut much state financial aid needed to avoid massive layoffs of teachers, police, fire, etc.
10) Cut of state aid would have a trickle down effect on local municipalities/suburbs-forcing them to do layoffs of police, fire, as well as close libraries, etc.
11) Will defund various categories of new heath care reform stripping millions of Americans of much needed access to quality health care
12) Will reverse aspects of financial reform to aid corporate/wall street in the continuation of unscrupulous practices against Americans
13) Will extend tax cuts for the richest 2% adding an additional $830 billion more in deficits
14) Will block funding for homeless veterans and homeless women
15) Will disregard the needs of middle America, minorities and the poor
16) Will work toward increased privatization of prisons
17) Will block lending programs/tax breaks for small businesses
18) Will paralyze the Obama administration with endless subpoenas and investigations in hopes of impeaching President Obama
19) Will literally shut down the government by defunding programs
20) Will repeal the 14th amendment which provides citizenship to all people born in the U.S.
21) Will kill cap and trade efforts
22) Will slash food stamp programs
23) Will roll back and repeal equal rights for gays
24) Will privatize Social Security
25) Will cut education spending along with college student aid

Now I ask you is their agenda in behalf of "We the People" or in behalf of corporations and the rich?

Poor People Need Toilet Paper Too!

When Jimmy McMillan for the party of "The Rent Is Too Damn High" appeared on the debate for the New York's Governor's race, people were laughing and make jokes out it.  However, you got to give McMillan some credit.  He voiced an issue that is one real concern and opinion of what  people think.  The rent is too high and so are prices on just about everything from gas to food and everything we as consumers buy. Therefore, in reality was what McMillan said really that funny?

For the last eight years we've been hearing about the needs of the "middleclass working folks" but the pleads for the "low income" and the "poor" are silent as if they are people that do not exist.  Either your rich or middleclass is what only seems to resonate amongst politicians.  In the Senate race the Republican candidate John Raese wants to do away with minimum wages and so do a few other Republican candidates. Paladino wants to take it to an extreme and round up the poor and put them in modern day debt prisoner camps.

Many are quick to tell stories of how they pulled themselves up by their bootstraps and worked for meager wages too back in the day.  However, we're not back in the day when items were cheaper. Today, products and services are ridiculously high. Senior citizens who have worked hard all their lives are bearing the blunt of it with no cost of living raise. Those making minimum wages are barely able to keep a roof over their head and eat.

Yeah, I remember the back in the day when you could buy a candy bar for three cents, gas was fifteen cents a gallon, and you could buy a steak for a $1.00; an average new house cost $8450.00 and a new car was $1510.00.  In the 1940s gas was three cents a gallon.  In the 1930s you could buy a stove or washing machine for the same amount it takes to fill your gas tank up these days.  Nevertheless, this is 2010 and we're living in the days of pure greed and eliminating minimum wages would be devastating to low-income people.

If times are hard for middleclass folks and they are barely surviving, do politicians ever take into account when making their decisions that is three times harder for those at the poverty level? Yet and still, the GOP folks want to snatch the safety net completely out from under them.

Counting To Ten!

I had to count to ten today afer reading the news today. Yup! Clarence Thomas's wife Virginia called Anita Hill to ask her to apologize to her husband. Should rape victims apologize to their perpetrators too Virginia?
Apparently, no one on the right side believes in normal decorum.

Well...Virginia on behalf of every single woman that has been a victim of jerks like your husband, I am demanding an apology from you. In addition, I demand that you and your husband apologize to Anita Hill. I pray that other women will stand up on behalf of Anita and flood you with letters demanding an apology to all women for your insult to womanhood.

Virginia Beach Republican Party chair Dave Bartholomew is openly letting us black and brown folks know that he thinks about us. Well...not quite openly, maybe he took the coward's route and put it in an email that he knew would get out. He is not fooling me! I'm sure he knows that emailing derogatory racial slurs do get out. BTW, Dave save your fake ass apology. We in the black and brown community have grown tired of apologies from folks like you, especially when we know that you don't mean them.

"MY DOG
I went down this morning to sign up my Dog for welfare.
At first the lady said, “Dogs are not eligible to draw welfare”.
So I explained to her that my Dog is black, unemployed, lazy, can’t speak English and has no frigging clue who his Daddy is.
So she looked in her policy book to see what it takes to qualify…
My Dog gets his first check Friday.
Is this a great country or what?"  ~~Dave Barthlomew, GOP Virginia Beach Chair~~

Man up! Isn't that what your party has been yelling from the right side of the political spectrum?  Why don't you practice what you preach?  Oh...I see that Dave tried to kill two birds with one stone in his email and included those people who don't speak English.  That's rich coming from a slimeball bigot like Dave.  I hate to be the one to rain of Dave's parade, but Black and Brown folks are well aware that your party hates us and is full of bigots. We are reminded of it with this and this and this.

Hey...but the GOP and Teaparty folks are not racist.  Nope, they are white supremacist!

Flip Flopping and Living Large!

Okay, the GOP party was against the Stimulus Bill before they were for it.  President Bush signed the first Stimulus Bill...the one the BANKERS got. So, now how did the stimulus package for the Bankers wind up President Obama's fault?

I thought us seniors were the only ones that have memory lapses, but I might have to rethink that. That's if I can remember to.  However, it seems that there are a lot of Americans out there who seem to be having some serious memory lapses.  I admit sometimes I forget where I put my keys at, sometimes I might even forget a name, but I did not forget who signed the bill to give bankers money. Nor did I forget who got us into this mess in the first place.

The GOP party claims that President Obama's stimulus package for jobs is not working, they voted unanimously against it, tried to block it, and are constantly declaring that it has not worked. Well...can someone tell me why those who opposed it have got their hands out and are sneaking behind doors requesting some of that stimulus money to guess what...produce jobs? In addition, why are they claiming praise for it?

Is everyone living in West Virginia rich like Republican nominee for Senate John Raese, because he wants to eliminate minimum wages? I guess, they don't have any McDonalds, Walmarts, or jobs for students in West Virginia. If there any folks out that way that are living paycheck to paycheck, working two and three jobs to be able to eat and pay the bills they had better start packing up and leaving West Virginia pronto because John Raese does not care about poor folks.

Sharron Angle bakes the cake and burns it too. Why the people in the Nevada even want to let her get close to a Senate seat is beyond me. She doesn't even know the difference between a Hispanic or an Asian. Boy, I tell ya between the "I'm a witch" and "I can see Russia from my backyard."  Oh...btw, now, Palin is seeing Nov 2 from her backyard. In my honest opinion, Palin sure does see a lot of things from her backyard. I wish she could see a mental institution for all of those folks on the right from her backyard.

Dumbistan!

What is the GOP solution to balancing the budget? End education, take away seniors income and give it to CEOs,take food and shelter away from the poor; give the power back to the CEOs instead of doctors to decide who should live and who should die, more deregulation, and outsourcing of jobs. And the rich live happily ever after.

So far us Californians are not buying the teaparty's offer. We are still reeling from the Terminator's policies that have stripped our education system down to a skeleton. However, states like Nevada, Alaska, Florida, wisconsin, Ohio, Kentucky, and a few more states seem to be in favor of the GOP teaparty candidates whether they are qualified or not.

According to the polls the GOP party will be taking back control of the House and Senate. And those who stand to suffer the most from their policies love it! Either the people are having a bit of "Bush years" notalgia and missing the days of corruption in mortgage and lending, banking business, and big corporation trickled up economics or they are bewitched. If it is the latter, praying folks better pray harder that the people snap out of it before November 2.

Although there is another explanation for the polls showing favorable ratings for the GOP party I've noticed going on this midterm election season. Democrats haven't been getting any telephone calls from the polling people. Usually about this time, my telephone would be ringing off the hook. However, my phone hasn't rung once for this midterm election. Strange thing is that most people I've asked say they've been experiencing the same thing and tell me that they haven't been getting any either. Only the Republicans have.

Depression could be another explanation. It is an emotion that will sometimes affect people's thinking and have them not thinking at all. Due to the mortgage and job crises it is understandable and perceivable that the majority of Americans are depressed and not being rational right now. I mean no one would hurt their own-self unless they have some type of mental disorder.

And face it with all the stress people are going through right now there are plenty of mental disorders spreading around right about now. That's the only rational way to explain people voting for people like this and this and this and this.

On November 2, I plan to make sure that my vote is counted win or lose because it is not over until the "Fat Lady Sings."

Here We Go Again!

Sometimes Anonymous people take their BS a little bit too far.  An Anonymous person is expressing their disappointment with the government by paying for a billboard sign whose main ingredients consist of four Ds...disrespectful, degrading, denigrating, and downright ignorant.

"Snover says the picture shows what some call Mr. Obama's four faces."~~Don Coleman,kjct8.com~~

"He's depicted as a terrorist, a mobster, an illegal immigrant, and a gay man as he gambles with different values that America stands for."~~Don Coleman,kjct8.com~~

I'd like to know what values the President has gambled away.  If the two men behind this billboard sign consider racism, lies, eliminating public schools, outsourcing jobs, banks & mortgage companies cheating people out of their homes; robbing the working class and poor to give to the rich as values Americans stand for.  I am ashamed to be called an American.

President Obama has presented himself as totally refined gentleman since he came on the political scene who possesses class as well as charisma.  The President has demonstrated that he is well-mannered and intelligent.  Never once has he demonstrated any of the ugly, nasty, and racist behavior that the rightwing folks have shown us since the elections in 2009.  He has held his cool even though he walked into a big mess created by his predecessor and his cronies.

If the artist had any lick of sense, he would have been trying to draw and paint those retarded imbeciles on the right some brains because Lord knows they are lacking in that department.  Nevertheless, look at it this way.  In their attempt to paint the President in a negative way, they've put their racism on display in full plain view for all to see. Those rightwing folks just don't know when to quit do they?

GOP's Solution For America...Privatize It!

The teabaggers and rightwing party want to privatize the whole government!  That is exactly what all this hollering about less government is really about.  It is not just about cutting taxes for the rich, it's about making the pot sweeter for the future CEO's of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA CORPORATION nicknamed Uncle Sam. This is what their future plans for America are if they get back in power.

Yeah, I know that sounds crazy, huh?  Or like another conspiracy theory, huh?  But think about it.  They want to privatize Social Security and a few other government agencies. Any government agency that is collecting money they want to privatize. Any government agency that is paying out money they want to eliminate it.  It's about profits and making money.  Good old fashion capitalism and greed...

Back when Healthcare was privatized  remember how HMOs which are corporations made the decision who should live and who should die, who could be treated and who would not be treated. They were overriding doctors prescribed medical treatments for patients.  In essence the HMOs were making the medical decision instead of  licensed Doctors. HMOs did not and would not cover the Doctors prescribed treatment not even in life or death situations.

If they were to privatize Social Security they would be headed by CEOs and the corporations would decide who gets it and who doesn't.  It wouldn't matter who paid into it and who didn't.  It didn't matter with HMOs who had paid into it when they rejected their claims did it? People lost a lot of money when the economy went bad with those 401K plans too. The CEOs would cut down claims to a bare minimum so that they could get those big bonus payments off the top and if they mismanage Social Security they get an even bigger severance pay check like AIG and the Bankers were giving out.

Why are they so anxious to get their hands on Social Security?  Is it really because the funds are running out and because of babyboomers or is it because there is a lot of money to be made?  A couple of years ago I tried to tell the people that those Bankers were playing a game and an eye needed to be kept on them. No one paid me any attention, until it came to the light and they almost brought America to its knees.  And how big a role does Wall Street play in the game with the up and down scoreboard?

Since all of these corporations are donating millions to the GOP election fund the economy must not be doing too bad.  At least it is not doing too bad for the CEOs and those corporations. And yet they want a tax cut while the middleclass and poor are the ones that are really suffering from losing their homes, jobs, etc.  I am not an accountant, but looks like to me those millions in donations corporations are making would make  decent wages in a paycheck for a few people who are unemployed right about now.  I'm just saying.

Corporations have money to burn when it comes to elections when they want a certain party to win, which is like gambling because the money they donate does not guarantee that party will win.  However, they are laying off folks left and right who have families to take care of and mouths to feed.  Corporations have been known to lay off people when they want to give the CEOs a bonus.  How many people did they lay off to donate money in the elections for GOP party?

Burn, Baby Burn!

Well...Tennessee has come up with a new way to punish people who don't pay their bills.  Yup! Burn, baby, burn.

The firemen watched this man's house burn down to the ground and didn't lift a finger to save it.  The firemen didn't even splash a bucket of water on it.  Gone are all of this man and his families possession, their pets, and the house.  The bill was only $75.

In case of failure to pay a bill does this  apply if people are trapped in the burning house too? I pray that this policy does not spread to any other states.  However, leave it up to Glen Beck and those crazy folks on the right it could happen.  According to Glen you don't want your neighbor sponging water off you that you've paid for to put out his fire. Who cares if his house is burning down.  He should have paid his bill.  Smh!

I pray that this man and his family are blessed with a better house and more than he had before.

Above the Law

When a victim gets the time and the predator gets probation, it's time to do some spring cleaning.

A fifteen year old girl was raped by a juvenile counselor.  He got probation and she was sentenced to a year in juvenile for a minor offense.  However, this is not his first sexual offense involving a minor. Are people employed in law enforcement above the law?  In order to escape a jail sentence for a crime nowadays all you have to be is a law enforcement employee and you can commit serious crimes from murder to rape and not worry about going to jail or prison.

A federal judge was busted for cocaine and guns.  Apparently, his stripper snitched on him. But the Judge doesn't have to worry because his case will be dismissed and he'll get a slap on the wrist because his attorney William Morrison presented this argument in his defense:

"This is really a case between Judge Camp and his wife," said Morrison. "It's not about Judge Camp being a judge. It's about him being a husband."~~Greg Bluestein, Huffingtonpost~~

Do y'all get it?  In other words, this is not a criminal case.  Naaah...this is a personal matter between him and his wife.  Where was Morrison at when President Clinton needed him?

There are some good folks in law enforcement, but the only thing is when they expose those who aren't they lose their jobs.

"Before that settlement, the judge issued the pretrial ruling that described how Seifert was pressured to play along with a cover-up that started soon after the crash. Officers at the crash scene failed to report or photograph Bowling’s injuries or report what witnesses said, the judge wrote." ~~JOE LAMBE -The Kansas City Star~

"Instead, Police Officer Robert Lane told Bowling he was going to jail because DEA agents “do pretty much whatever they want,” the judge wrote."~~JOE LAMBE -The Kansas City Star~

"After Seifert spoke to Bowling in jail, though, the detective told a boss that internal affairs should take the case instead. Seifert got it anyway and called Lane to ask why there were no witness reports." ~~JOE LAMBE -The Kansas City Star~

“It would look bad for DEA agents,” Lane replied, according to the judge’s report, adding that police “should cover for them.” ~~JOE LAMBE -The Kansas City Star~

Well...no one can accuse law enforcement folks of not sticking together and covering each others backs when they break the law.  Law enforcment people practice that "no snitch" policy too. After all, who wants to be added to the high unemployment rate statistics. Jobs are hard to come by nowadays. The way things have been going on the jobs front you never know when they might start outsourcing law enforcement jobs too.  I'm just saying.
